For this project, titled “Swim Or Die,” I wanted to express the idea of never letting go of your dreams. This piece serves as a warning, a reminder not to end up like the man impaled on the spike. The way to avoid that fate is simple: keep chasing your dreams, because your dreams are what keep you alive, what keep you young.
The message is to stay on the surface, keep swimming. Yes, there will be waves and challenges along the way, but sometimes you have to face them head on and push through to reach the other side. This idea is reflected through the blood splatters across the piece a symbol that you may have to bleed and struggle to achieve what you want.
But don’t worry the salt of the ocean will heal your scars.
The spike itself is a symbolic representation of limitations. These limitations aren’t real they are negative thoughts we create for ourselves. Inside the spike are fingerprints, representing all the lost dreams that were crushed by those imagined barriers. This project is a reminder that only you have the power to break free from them. Only you can decide whether to swim or sink.
