For this project, titled “Moon Man,” I was tasked with developing two photographs inspired by Tim Walker’s distinctive photography style. I wanted to bring an alien like character into my images, similar to the whimsical and surreal figures often seen in Walker’s work.
Both photographs use a very monotone color scheme mainly gray and white. Despite the limited palette, the images remain visually engaging through deliberate photography choices.
The character I created wears a hoodie with elongated sleeves, soft ripples, and alien-like glasses. In one of the photos, Moon Man is shown lying down on a set of stairs, with his arms flowing down the steps, the long sleeves emphasizing the surreal, detached quality of the pose. This relaxed yet striking position conveys a quiet emotion nonchalant, but still intriguing.
What truly brings these images to life is the use of a fisheye effect, which draws the viewer into Moon Man’s world, adding a sense of depth, curiosity, and distortion that enhances the character's otherworldly presence.
