For this project, titled “Hurt Me,” I wanted to explore the complex relationship we have with self image and identity. The idea was to visually represent the inner conflict many people face when they look at themselves do you see someone ugly or someone beautiful and confident?
This project reflects the belief that only we have the power to harm the way we see ourselves. Negative thoughts can bleed into our perception, haunting us and slowly breaking down who we are. When we allow self-hate to take over, we lose touch with our true selves.
With “Hurt Me,” I wanted to send a message: let go of the voices that bring you down. Life is too short to live for the judgment of others. The key is to love yourself, to accept your flaws, and to move through the world unapologetically. Be yourself always.
